Born in the creative heart of Barcelona’s Poble Nou district, FOLC is an independent, design-led label that views eyewear as wearable sculpture. Founded by product designer Marta Llinarès, the brand is a reflection of intentionality—blending high-fashion silhouettes with the soul of artisanal craft.

At our Wellington studio, we are drawn to FOLC’s "Slow Design" philosophy. By focusing on small-batch collections and limited productions, they ensure that every frame receives the time and research required to achieve a perfect balance of architectural weight and effortless comfort.

The essence of FOLC lies in the "game of volumes." Each frame begins as a hand-drawn concept in Barcelona before traveling to the Italian Alps to be brought to life. Surrounded by vineyards and nature, Italian master craftspeople use traditional methods to tumble, polish, and assemble these bold silhouettes by hand.

This proximity to production ensures an ethical, sustainable footprint—something we value deeply at our studio. When you hold a FOLC frame, you aren't just holding glasses; you are feeling the results of a 12-month design journey from prototype to finished art.

Premium Italian Acetate: Sourced from the prestigious houses of Mazzucchelli and LAES, this plant-based material offers unparalleled depth of color and a luminous finish.

ZEISS Precision Optics: Every sunglass frame is fitted with solid or gradient lenses by Carl Zeiss, providing the world's highest standard in clarity and UV protection.

Architectural Milling: Characterized by chunky profiles and thick lines, the frames are meticulously milled to create a play of light and shadow across the face.

Sustainable Soul: Small-batch manufacturing prevents material waste and overstock, ensuring each piece remains as rare as it is beautiful.
